WHAT IS THE BEST TYPE OF GUTTER SYSTEM?
There are many different options and styles of gutter systems but generally speaking, a robust, seamless gutter system is the best type because they are built for the long haul and designed to function without issues for many years.
Many gutter systems are not seamless (think thin aluminum and plastic gutters) which means they are typically installed in 10 foot lengths- this is not good for a water mitigation system (such as gutters) because they will become very high maintenance and will frequently leak.
Seamless is what it sounds like. The gutters are essentially manufactured (extruded) on-site to accommodate nearly any custom length needed, thereby eliminating seams (seamless) in the system.
Balancing function and design is important to achieving the "best type" of gutter system. They need to be custom designed and built to fulfill their intended purpose. And I believe that they should look really good as well.
21 years of gutter installations has shown me that the best gutter system is one that is built specifically to accommodate a particular water load and roofline. Each home and roofline is unique and there are many factors (such as water load, icing and snow accumulation, whether a home has an asphalt shingle, slate, metal roof, or solar panels) that affect how a gutter system will be best designed and installed.
In summary, the best type of gutter system is fully seamless with robust hardware that is designed for your particular home to withstand whatever mother nature can throw at it.
I'm honored to say that here at Legacy Gutter, we custom design and build America's most beautiful and strongest gutter systems.
